We are looking for a talented and experienced chef to take on the role of overseeing, managing, and supervising the food preparation at our vibrant Mexican kitchen, Mercados Cafe in the heart of Tyler, TX. Our dedicated team is committed to creating delicious dishes from scratch every day, showcasing the rich flavors and traditions of Mexican cuisine. The ideal candidate will not only have a passion for cooking but also possess strong leadership skills to effectively manage and inspire our kitchen staff. In addition to overseeing and ensuring adherence to recipes, the chef will be responsible for creating new menu items, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Additional responsibilities for this role may include: Training and mentoring kitchen staff to uphold high standards of food quality and presentation Collaborating with suppliers to source the freshest and highest quality ingredients Implementing cost-effective measures to optimize kitchen operations and minimize waste Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times The ideal candidate for this position will have a proven track record in a similar role, with a deep understanding of Mexican cuisine and a creative flair for developing innovative dishes. They should possess excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
